Why should we use natural bar soap?
Let's start at the beginning!
As they often say, there's nothing better than our good old grandmother's recipes, which is why we chose cold saponification done by hand, exactly as our grandmothers did.
Historically, it has been said that archaeological excavations have shown that the Babylonians were already making natural soap more than 2800 years BC. So it goes back even further than Grandma's remedies, after all.
During the First World War, there were shortages of oils and fats, which led to the development of detergents and soaps with synthetic materials. As these were easier to produce and much cheaper to manufacture, they were therefore much more advantageous for the companies that produced them, but much less advantageous for those who used them.
This is when natural manufacturing, which had been used for over 3000 years, was replaced by ingredients with names that make you believe that it was better for you. After several years, they realized that it was very harmful. For real!!
What exactly is soap ?
Now I would like to explain to you what soap is, exactly.
A soap is simply a chemical reaction between a fatty substance and a strong base. Here, we use caustic soda to have the best hard soaps. This chemical transformation is called cold saponification.
“I don’t understand the difference between cold or hot saponification!”
It's very simple: hot saponification is used mainly in factories to make soaps in large quantities, but unfortunately, this method causes the ingredients present in the soap to lose their properties.
Cold saponification, on the contrary, will preserve all the benefits and properties of the oils. Since this artisanal method carried out at room temperature does not require any cooking, 100% of the ingredients during saponification remain in the soap paste. This is what greatly increases the moisturizing effect of the soap.
Cold saponification will create a 100% natural solid soap that is both highly moisturizing thanks to the vegetable glycerin naturally produced by this process and superfatted, thanks to the addition of organic virgin oils at the end of the manufacturing process.
Soaps that are created by the cold saponification process are like fine wines: the longer they age, the better they are.
Our soaps are made with love and, thanks to their manufacturing process, they will bring many benefits to the skin and will even be suitable for sensitive or atypical skin prone to allergies.
But what about the environment?
Did you know that bar soaps are not harmful to the environment?
Since there are no chemical ingredients in our bar soaps, it makes sense that our environment is better off, provided that everyone uses them.
Do you agree that between olive oil, coconut oil, beeswax, essential oils and sodium lorette sulfate , cocomagnidropopil betaine PEG-7 , there are some that sound less harmful than others to your ears?
Bar soap keeps longer
Bar soaps, compared to gel soaps, last much longer since they are not water-based. This is also why you will rarely see an expiration date on a natural bar soap, compared to gel soaps which do.
Once the packaging is removed, the natural bar soap does not expire and will be by your side for a long time. Even after several years! However, it may lose some properties, but it will continue to wash you well. We strongly recommend that you have a soap dish that will allow you to dry your product between each wash.
Also, do we agree that a natural bar soap will also take up less space in your suitcase and won't leak onto your clothes?
